Old South Smokehouse: Where Flavor Meets Tradition in Port Deposit

Good food. We just moved to the area and are exploring the area. We got the fried pickles to start. Absolutely hands down the best fried pickles I’ve ever had. We get them often when we eat out and these were the best for sure. Perfect crunch, perfect sauce. Piping hot when they came out! 10 out of 10. I had the special with wings and shrimp. Wings were flavored in chili pineapple and were good, mild flavors. Shrimp were standard with cocktail sauce. Nothing special about either. Nothing was wrong just standard which is fine. Brisket bowl with Mac n cheese was really good 8 out of 10. Brisket Reuben sandwich was good 8 out of 10. Nice beer list. Waitress, Haileigh was awesome. Huge parking lot.

Everything we had here was fantastic, especially the smoked wings and ribs. The portions are enormous and reasonably priced, for both food and cocktails. Service was fast and friendly. I'm not sure if this was a one off, but we came at 530 (which I thought was early) on a Thursday and still had a 15 minute wait, so plan accordingly!

Good bbq spot. I ordered the brisket and 1/2 rack rib combo. Brisket was good, ribs were very good as well. Came with a pice of cornbread and a side. Good selection of local and national beers. Good dessert selection (didn't order). Kids menu with a good number of choices. Overall a solid stop if in the area. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table when we arrived at 6pm on a Saturday. Get very crowded, so arrive for dinner early.

Sometimes my GPS does me a favor and takes me on a backroad adventure....this was one of those times and I'm forever grateful. We saw this place in passing and went back the next day to try it out and are so glad we did. Plentiful portions of some of the BEST bbq we've ever tried. The brisket, ribs, and pork were juicy ans had the best smoked flavor....the handcut fries were a welcomed treat as well. My daughter said the baked beans were amazing. After we shared an app, had our meals and several reasonably priced cocktails we didn't have room for their extensive list of desserts. That leaves us even more to look forward to next time.

Comfortable bar OR restaurant atmosphere. Staff was courteous and pleasant, seating was immediate, waitress was helpful. Beef brisket was delicious food was really good, consider portions when ordering. We ordered the original stuffed potato, a side of housemade slaw, and the pit ham sandwich, egg nog cake for dessert. lots of leftovers. Amanda was great- loved her, super helpful.

If you like BBQ and good comfort food....this is a restaurant for you or to try. Their brisket is great as are their burgers ( and other menu items). Good service. Comfortable atmosphere. Meal portions are large so be prepared to get a lot of food. Reasonably priced, though tending to be a little pricey... however with their large portion sizes... it's really 2 meals.

It's what you want from a smokehouse. We had the double smash burger with sauteed mushrooms on a pretzel roll and their special salad of the day, which was mixed greens, strawberries, walnuts, and feta. Everything was delicious. The service was pleasant and quick, even though they were busy.

We always enjoy stopping in and having a bite to eat, or rather large bites to eat. This was our first time since the move to the new location, and there was no disappointment. They have great daily deals and beer options on tap. I usually order a burger, as that's my favorite with pulled pork atop. However, this time I went with the chili spud. I was so happy with this choice, it was amazing, it was huge, I was only able to eat half.. the chili has a great flavor and the potato was cooked perfectly. My daughter insisted on the hotdog, and she was so amazed by its size,, she gobbled up what her 4yr old self could manage and she enjoyed the fresh chips. My hubby ordered the Cuban, which he was very satisfied with. Service is always friendly and attentive. It's spacious and clean. For the portions and quality of food, the prices are reasonable. Especially if you go on the days with specials. Went on a Wednesday night for the prime rib special, it is delicious, has great flavor. The spuds are so huge, with all the right toppings, the pulled pork with the cheese and coleslaw.. mmm.. mmm tasty!!
